Job summary

Sakata is hiring a Sales Representative to drive vegetable seed sales in South Africa, focusing on supporting farmers with agronomy insight and product knowledge. You will manage regional accounts, assist with market strategy, and coordinate trials and promotional activities from Polokwane, with travel to areas as needed.

The role requires a tertiary qualification, strong English, a driver’s license, and willingness to travel and meet deadlines within a dynamic agricultural team.

Qualifications

• Experience in vegetable seed sales preferred.
• Knowledge of agronomy and irrigation to support farmers.
• English fluency in written and spoken form.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willing to travel and work flexible hours.
• Based in Polokwane, with preference for Louis Trichardt.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts.
• Provide technical assistance to clients.
• Provide key customer support.
• Develop market share.
• Contribute to sales planning and budgets.
• Assist with farmers days planning and marketing activities.
• Coordinate product trials within the region.
• Collect and report up-to-date market information/data.
• Maintain proficiency of sales skills and product knowledge.
• Deliver products to clients when necessary.
• Coordinate all commercial activities within the region.
