Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Security Operations Center Analyst to monitor and protect network infrastructure from cyber threats in Paarl. You will detect, analyze, and respond to security alerts in real time, using advanced security tools to safeguard data integrity and availability.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to monitor and protect their network infrastructure from cyber threats in Paarl . In this critical role, you will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to security alerts and incidents in real-time. You will work with advanced security tools to identify suspicious activities and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems and security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS).
• Analyze security events to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.

• Escalate complex security incidents to senior analysts or incident response teams.
• Stay updated on the latest threat intelligence and attack vectors.
• Contribute to the improvement of SOC processes, procedures, and playbooks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a SOC environment or cybersecurity operations role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Understanding of common cybersecurity threats and attack methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
