Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment is seeking a Security Engineer for a Cape Town position focusing on designing and building guardrails for a secure modern enterprise. The role spans identity, endpoint, cloud, and email security, delivering secure-by-design engineering controls without impacting business performance.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in security/infra/cloud security, strong IAM experience, and familiarity with Microsoft Defender and Purview, with scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud security.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust architectures (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA experience a strong plus).
• Solid IAM and identity governance design/implementation experience (MFA, SAML, OAuth, conditional access).
• Familiarity with enterprise email security technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft security platforms - Defender, Purview.
• Automation skills in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Working knowledge of frameworks like NIST, CIS, or ISO.

Security Engineer - Cape Town

Zero Trust isn't a buzzword to you - it's Tuesday. Our client is after a Security Engineer who can design and build the guardrails that keep a modern enterprise environment safe, without slowing the business down. You'll be hands-on across identity, endpoint, cloud, and email security - engineering controls that are secure by design, not bolted on as an afterthought.

Key Requirements

• 6+ years in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud security
• Experience implementing Zero Trust architectures (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA experience a strong plus)
• Solid IAM and identity governance design/implementation experience (MFA, SAML, OAuth, conditional access)
• Familiarity with enterprise email security technologies
