Job summary

Fidelity Services Group is seeking a skilled fitment technician in Cape Town to manage and execute vehicle tracking installations with attention to safety and quality. You will troubleshoot, service, and upgrade tracking systems while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

The role requires a PSIRA Grade C and a trade test in motor electrical/electronics, with 6–10 years of relevant experience. This position focuses on on-site fitment, with strong customer interaction and remote support

Qualifications

• Matric and valid driver’s license required.
• PSIRA Grade C registration essential.
• Trade test in motor electrical/electronics preferred.
• Auto-electrical qualification advantageous.
• At least 6–10 years’ experience in vehicle tracking fitment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and presentable appearance and PPE as per PSIRA.
• Perform and supervise vehicle fitments to high quality and timelines.
• Carry out installations and repairs of tracking equipment.
• Attend to customer queries and provide onsite/remote product support.
• Complete daily administration and stock control related to fitments.

Overall purpose of the job

To manage and maintain quality within Fidelity Secure Drive. Maintain and resolve customer related issues. Present and defend Fidelity Secure Drive all fitment related issues where required to contribute daily to our mission of earning the reputation that we provide all our clients and partners with superior quality technology and information supported by first rate service. The incumbent must uphold our promise to clients that we go beyond the expected.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Vehicle cleanliness


• Traffic offences


• Roadworthiness

• Safekeeping of tools are good and serviced


• Stock


• Complete stock take


• Resolve all missing stock


• Cell Phone

• Monitor data usage

• Perform daily administration and duties to ensure the smooth running of the technical function


• Perform office administrative function w.r.t filing of registers, updating of database etc.


• Complete on the job coaching

• Attend to all Complaints when required


• Offer product support onsite and remotely.


• Dealing with technical and client queries


• Assist with fitments when required


• Complete hardware installations to the highest quality and within the required timelines


• Repair, Maintain and Installation of Tracking Systems


• Maintain fitment quality


• Assist with technical evaluations and repairs


• Implement new fitment techniques (OEM fitment guideline requirement implementation)Specialised fitment techniques


• Ensure that personal hygiene is maintained (as per PSIRA),


• Company uniform in good condition


• Ensure familiarity and adherence to applicable company policies and procedures


• Attend and take initiative to develop own skills


• Providing comprehensive feedback to internal role player

Minimum qualifications and experience

• Matric


• Driver’s license (code B),


• Clear Criminal Record


• Psira Grade C


• Trade test in motor electrical electronics or similar preferred,


• Auto-electricians qualification advantageous,


• At least 6-10 years’ experience in the fitment of vehicle tracking equipment
