Job Title: Section Head: Policing Research

Location: Gauteng, Pretoria | Deadline: July 11, 2025

Application Requirements:

  • Doctorate Degree in Social Science, Science and Technology, or related fields, recorded on the National Learner Record Database. Additional training in Middle Management, Leadership, or Project Management is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research with practical experience in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Minimum of three years' managerial experience in a relevant field.

Core Functions:

  • Ensure effective operational and tactical policing research aligned with SAPS Research Agenda, including prioritization, evaluation, and analysis of policing systems, models, and strategies.
  • Research new policing trends and analyze their implications.
  • Monitor and assess the implementation and impact of research recommendations.
  • Maintain communication with law enforcement research communities and experts.
  • Manage resources in accordance with SAPS strategies and regulatory frameworks.
