Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a high-performance culture and leading the Plant Engineering & Maintenance team to effectively deliver production and business continuity targets through an integrated value chain. This includes legal accountability under MHSA for the safe operation and maintenance of equipment and structures, ensuring equipment availability and reliability at Venetia Mine.
Key Performance Areas
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, environmental, and hygiene standards.
- Develop risk logs with mitigation solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
- Implement policies and procedures to adhere to SHE, engineering, and operational standards.
- Manage financial resources to optimize equipment availability and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate maintenance and operational plans, managing teams and resources.
- Engage with stakeholders to develop fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
- Develop and utilize human resources effectively within the team.
- Develop maintenance strategies to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
- Manage projects and construction activities within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure work is planned, scheduled, executed, and monitored according to legal and statutory requirements.
- Implement critical plant and equipment strategies to meet availability, reliability, and cost targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Government Certificate of Competency (Mines).
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Proven asset management and turnaround experience.
- Experience in capital project management and risk mitigation.
- Strong planning, analysis, and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication, relationship building, and report writing skills.
- Ability to determine root causes and implement remedial actions.
