Secretary to Western Cape Provincial Parliament (WCPP) / Chief Procedural Adviser (5 years fixed term contract)Remuneration : R2 .55 (per annum cost to company)Details of vacancyThe Western Cape Provincial Parliament (WCPP) has a vacancy for the role of Secretary / Chief Procedural Adviser.

Reporting to the Speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, this executive level role is responsible for providing overall leadership, management and strategic direction to WCPP.

Additionally, as the Accounting Officer of Provincial Parliament, this role is accountable for overall good governance of the institution.An all-inclusive remuneration package of R2 .55 per annum.Essential requirements for the roleApplicants wanting to be considered for the role must have : Minimum NQF Level 7 ( credits) degree or equivalent in a relevant field, including but not limited to Public Administration, Law, Political Studies, Human Resource Management, Finance)A post graduate qualification will be advantageousA minimum of ten years proven experience in an executive managerial and leadership positionProven experience at a high strategic level of the Parliamentary procedures and processesExtensive knowledge and understanding of the legislative sectorProven experience in management of the entire process or business cycles spanning more than one discipline or functional areaIn depth knowledge of relevant parliamentary / government legislation and policiesA high level of financial and people management skillsThe ability to inspire staff and communicate effectively in a wide and diverse range of situationsStakeholder Engagement (Ministers, Members of Provincial Parliament and the public)Strong strategic and leadership abilitiesGood communication and interpersonal skillsThe WCPP is a fast-paced but compliance-driven organisation.
