Mr Price Group Limited is seeking an In-Season Designer to collaborate with Buying and Merchandise teams, translating trends into commercially viable product designs for Miladys. You will create accurate CADs, technical packs, and prints, ensuring fabric direction, trims and construction are reflected, while staying aligned with seasonal strategies and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Clothing Management or related qualification.
• 3+ years’ relevant experience in fashion, product or CAD design, preferably within a retail environment.
• Strong CAD and technical drawing ability.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, or the relevant Adobe Creative Suite applications.
• Sound knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, fit and technical packs.
• Understanding of the retail merchandise and product-development process.
• Ability to interpret trade performance, customer insights and fashion trends into commercially relevant product ideas.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and work at pace within a deadline-driven retail environment.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop CADs and technical packs for product development and supplier briefing.
• Ensure garment details, colourways, trims, fabric direction and technical information are accurately reflected in CADs and technical packs.
• Adapt trends to suit Miladys customer with focus on fit, comfort and commercial appeal.
• Support development of digital merchandise collections and seasonal presentations.
• Collaborate with Buyers and design/graphics teams to brief and develop prints, patterns and colorways.
• Research local and international product, fashion, colour, print and fabric references.
• Identify product extensions and new design opportunities based on trade and customer needs.
• Partner with Buying, Merchandise, Quality and Sourcing throughout the development process.
• Respond to product changes within retail timelines.
• Participate in strategy sessions and range reviews with relevant insights.
• Ensure designs remain aligned with Miladys product direction and commercial objectives.
• Maintain sample and design-reference library, and use references to support range development and supplier briefs.
