Monthly Basic Salary (Market related, Negotiable)

We are seeking experienced Site Engineers to join our client's project team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge fiber and copper access networks while supporting critical network migrations and infrastructure development across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain Openserve Fiber and Copper Access Network infrastructure
  • Interpret and implement splice plans for network installations and maintenance
  • Perform fiber splicing operations and comprehensive fiber testing procedures
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor activities and deliverables
  • Operate and troubleshoot Openserve systems including SDH, ME, MARTIS, HDSL, OLS/OLT, MSAN, and MW
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Support critical network migrations and cutover activities during extended hours
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols
  • Utilize client's tools and applications for network management and optimization
Technical Experience
  • Proven experience working with Openserve Fiber and Copper Access Networks
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and execute splice plans
  • Hands-on experience in fiber splicing techniques and fiber testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Openserve systems: SDH, ME, MARTIS, HDSL, OLS/OLT, MSAN, and MW platforms
  • Competent PC skills for reporting and documentation purposes
  • Understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety principles and practices
Management & Coordination
  • Experience managing and coordinating subcontractor teams
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities
Availability & Mobility
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends for migrations and cutovers
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally as project requirements dictate
  • Commitment to on-call support when needed
  • Own reliable vehicle with valid driver's license (essential for site visits and travel)
  • Personal smartphone capable of supporting client's tools and applications
  • Ability to maintain and operate required technical equipment
