Job description

ENVIRONMENT : Ensure well-established high-performing team dynamics, a continuous flow, and exponential improvement in processes as the next Scrum Master sought by an innovative Investment Firm based in Centurion.

You will help coordinate the development and documentation of software requirements, teach problem-solving techniques, and assist the team in understanding how to estimate Stories, Features, and Capabilities while focusing on daily and sprint goals within the context of Program Increment (PI) Objectives.

The ideal candidate must have formal Scrum Master training, with 5+ years of work experience in a similar role. Experience in different Agile frameworks—particularly Scrum and Kanban—is required, along with a solid understanding of Lean principles. Proficiency with Jira, O, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and MS PowerPoint is essential.

DUTIES :

  1. Manage communication between Agile teams and Product Owners of internal and external business units to develop solutions supporting business needs.
  2. Coordinate the development and documentation of software requirements in collaboration with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and teams.
  3. Coordinate business objective delivery within agreed timelines.
  4. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all team members and sponsors while managing time effectively.
  5. Exhibit Lean-Agile leadership.
  6. Facilitate the team’s progress toward goals.
  7. Monitor and improve team quality, predictability, flow, and velocity performance.
  8. Help the team focus on daily and sprint goals within the PI Objectives.
  9. Teach problem-solving techniques and empower the team to become better problem-solvers.
  10. Facilitate all team meetings, including Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Review, and Retrospective.
  11. Support the Product Owner in backlog creation and management.
  12. Eliminate impediments.
  13. Foster a culture of discipline and craftsmanship.
  14. Build a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement.
  15. Assist the team in managing conflicts.
  16. Coordinate inter-team dependencies.
  17. Help the team understand how to estimate Stories, Features, and Capabilities.
  18. Facilitate team decisions, involving appropriate stakeholders.
  19. Assist the Team Manager with monthly reporting.
  20. Monitor support and Business As Usual (BAU) activities within teams.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Formal Scrum Master training and 5+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of Software Development Project Management, especially for Data Application Development.
  • Proficiency with Jira, O, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with different Agile frameworks, especially Scrum and Kanban.
  • Solid understanding of Lean principles and ability to propagate this knowledge.
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating remote team events.
  • Technical background in Development or DevOps domains.

Advantageous:

  • Experience in data environments and the investment/financial industry.
  • Basic knowledge of Software Engineering best practices and architecture concepts like SOA and OOA/OOD.
