Scrum Master

My client based in Bellville (Northern Suburbs) is currently looking for a Scrum Master to join them on a fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

• Set up and facilitate all Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure that ceremonies are productive and focused on achieving sprint goals.
• Facilitate planning sessions to help teams estimate and prioritize work.
• Guide teams in breaking down complex tasks into manageable pieces.
• Monitor and report on sprint progress, ensuring transparency and visibility for all stakeholders.
• Use metrics and data to provide insights into team performance and areas for improvement.
• Identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress.
• Act as a buffer between the team and external distractions, ensuring the team remains focused on their goals.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members on Agile principles and practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the teams.
• Administer the sprint backlog on Azure DevOps (TFS), ensuring it is up-to-date and accurately reflects the team's work.
• Collaborate with Delivery Managers / Product Owners to ensure backlog items are well-defined and prioritized.

Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent technical qualification.
• ISTQB certified.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with Azure DevOps (TFS) for backlog management and sprint tracking.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Proven track record of successfully leading Agile teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to removing impediments.
