Job summary

Western Cape Government is seeking a Chief Supply Chain Management Clerk (SCM Practitioner) in Cape Town to supervise and render SCM and acquisition/logistics clerical functions. The post is based in Cape Town and permanent.

The role requires a Senior Certificate and at least 6 years’ relevant experience, with responsibilities spanning asset management, demand/ acquisition clerical work, and logistics support. Remuneration is salary level 7, with standard departmental benefits.

Qualifications

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent) with a minimum of 6 years’ supply chain management/clerical experience.
• Ability to capture data, operate computer systems and manage logistics processes.
• Knowledge of the Public Service legislative framework and related working procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise asset management clerical services.
• Supervise demand and acquisition clerical services.
• Supervise logistical support services and human resources/staff.
• Perform basic SCM duties and data capture in required systems.
