Miles Ahead Charter School is a tuition-free, public charter school authorized by the

State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC) of Georgia serving grades K-5 in the -

academic year.

As an SCSC authorized school, Miles Ahead operates as a Local

Educational Authority (LEA) and has a statewide attendance zone.

Miles Ahead is

Miles Ahead Charter School (MACS) is an authorized tuition-free, public school focused

on student growth and academic achievement through a whole child approach to

Overview of Contracted Position

Contracted teachers or programs at MACS support the ExPedition Day

experiences for MACS 3 days per week.

Contracted Teachers at MACS have

the unique opportunity to implement our innovative curriculum by ensuring

student growth and academic achievement during their exploratory learning

while implementing the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSEs).

Contracted

Teachers at MACS may include :

Science (All Grades K-5)

Social Studies (All Grades K-5)

Physical Education (All Grades K-5)

Music (All Grades K-5)

Art (All Grades K-5)

Instructional Guide

  • Deliver classroom instruction aligned to the Georgia Standards of
  • Submit grades into Infinite Campus on a bi-weekly basis for families to

review.

  • Create warm, rigorous exploratory learning experiences for K-5 scholars

during their scheduled time.

  • Collaborate with MACS Associate Teachers to implement the High Five

Habits and use LiveSchool as a classroom management tracker.

  • Implement and grade monthly assessments to monitor scholar growth.
  • Implement IEP and BIP accommodations with fidelity related to

exceptional learners.

  • Communicate with families once per month using ParentSquare.
  • Communicate monthly with the ExPedition Day lead teacher to monitor

program implementation.

Whole Child Supports

  • Create a warm-welcoming environment for all scholars by developing

morning and afternoon Crew structures.

  • Model MACS High Five Habits for scholars.
  • Communicate to scholars alongside MACS High Five Habits to ensure
  • Use appropriate digital platforms to monitor scholar well-being including

Infinite Campus, LiveSchool, and ParentSquare.

  • Complete all annual required trainings related to scholar safety and well-

being including neglect and abuse.

Communication

  • Respond to family questions or requests within 24 hours.
  • Complete weekly newsletter within ParentSquare.
  • Host office hours for family visits and communication time.
  • Offer parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all communication within MACS is aligned to the policies within the

employee handbook.

  • Accept Net 30 payment terms for all monthly invoices.
  • Receive quarterly feedback related to contract.
  • Work 3 days per week to implement content with fidelity.
  • Monitor MACS employee to respond to emails from families.
  • Uphold the MACS vision to create whole, healthy, happy people ready for

the 21st century for scholars and colleagues.

  • Communicate with the ExPedition Day lead teacher and Director of

Academics and Culture.

  • Flexible with changing schedules across semesters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Either hold a Georgia Teaching Certificate or be willing to start path

towards certification (Provisional Certificate)

  • Either hold or be willing to obtain a Gifted or ESOL endorsement
  • Experience working with Elementary Aged Children
  • Clear Criminal Background Check
  • Authorized to Work in the United States
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Strong technical skills
  • Exceptional Hiring Skill : Bilingual or Multilingual

Experiences :

  • 1-2 years working in the elementary setting.
  • Experience working in inclusive classrooms across at the elementary level.
  • Interpreting IEPs and BIPs to ensure learning is maximized.
  • Desire to continuously learn and increase effectiveness as a professional
  • Unwavering commitment to MACS's mission and willingness to go above

and beyond to meet the needs of MACS scholars, families, and staff

Additional Information Compensation

We offer a competitive salary that depends on prior experience, as well as a

benefits package.

as additional leadership and stipend opportunities where applicable.
