Job description

Based at Forfar Academy, Forfar Community Campus, Kirriemuir Road, Forfar.

This job is workstyle 1 - Fixed

Responsibilities

• Support the effective functioning of the science and technical departments with attention to health and safety, including assisting in enforcing safety procedures and conducting regular visual inspections of equipment such as Bunsen burners, pressure vessels, autoclaves, and electrical devices, while maintaining logs of these checks.
• Assist in testing and inventory management of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety policies and supporting technicians with portable appliance testing.
• Carry out equipment maintenance, including first‑line repairs of audio‑visual, electrical, and departmental resources, and coordinate repairs for more complex issues.
• Support departmental activities such as stocktaking, chemical requisitions, and preparing materials for experiments and projects.
• Manage AV/TV/IT equipment, including setting up, operating, and troubleshooting as required.
