Job summary

Grain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (PTY) Ltd, invites applications for a Scale Assistant. The role supports an artisan in maintenance, installation, and day-to-day duties within a chicken abattoir environment in Reitz, Free State.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12 or NQF4, relevant N2 electrical or mechanical certification, and at least 2 years in a similar role. Overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work may be required. Health and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent is required.
• N2 Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical is required.
• Related scale/mechanical courses will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the artisan with maintaining, cleaning, and sorting the workshop.
• Oversee scales, product distribution and inkjet printing machinery to ensure proper operation.
• Assist with inspections and daily paperwork before end of shift.
