Job summary

Honey Recruitment Specialists partners with a Stellenbosch-based professional accounting firm to recruit a Tax Administrator. You will manage SARS eFiling, tax compliance functions, and related submissions while ensuring accuracy and timely follow-ups with clients and SARS representatives.

The ideal candidate communicates professionally with clients, maintains confidential records, and supports the team in delivering accurate tax administration services in Afrikaans and English.

Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing or tax administration.
• Practical experience using SARS eFiling.
• Knowledge of South African tax administration and SARS procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong administrative, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential financial and client information.
• Experience with Greatsoft or similar accounting practice software will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage SARS eFiling queries, correspondence and administrative processes.
• Follow up on outstanding tax matters, refunds, payment allocations and account discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit tax-related applications, including Tax Compliance Status (TCS/TCC) and Approval of International Transfer (AIT) applications.
• Assist with Registered Representative and public officer updates.
• Handle taxpayer registrations, profile amendments and related SARS administration.
• Prepare, process or assist with Dividends Tax and Donations Tax returns.
• Investigate tax penalties and interest and submit requests for remission where appropriate.
• Monitor outstanding cases and elevate unresolved SARS matters.
• Liaise with clients, SARS and internal accounting teams to resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure that supporting documentation is properly filed.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed within the required timeframes.
• Provide professional client service and regular progress updates.
