Job summary

Blue Pearl PTY in Johannesburg, South Africa, is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead SAP implementation, migration or upgrade projects. You will align objectives with business goals, manage cross-functional teams and ensure scope, timelines and budgets are met.

The ideal candidate has deep SAP delivery expertise (S/4HANA, ECC), strong leadership, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach to managing enterprise programs in a global context.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of successfully managing SAP projects including full-cycle implementations or upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of SAP modules and integration points (FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.).
• Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party resources in a global delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and document project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams including SAP consultants, developers, business analysts, testers, and third-party vendors.
• Ensure effective use of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello, or Smartsheet) to monitor and report on project progress.
• Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all SAP solutions delivered are aligned with business requirements, compliance standards, and quality expectations.
• Maintain consistent and transparent communication with senior leadership and stakeholders, providing regular updates on status, risks, and achievements.
• Manage change requests, scope adjustments, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee post-implementation activities, including system stabilization, user support, and performance optimization.
