Sap Plant Maintenance Systems Analyst

To manage interpretation, analysis, and investigations for application requirements and to turn those into business solutions using appropriate technology resources and proven methodologies.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide input into the development of plant maintenance and clinic planning standard operating procedures.
2. KPA 1: Manage system solution design and configuration in line with business processes.
1. Translate business requirements into viable technical solutions based on requirements obtained from the business.
2. Define and maintain technical requirements specification for approval.
3. Implementation of complex system solutions.
4. Present technical specification for approval by the line manager.
5. Ensure that the system data integrity is robust such that information from the system is coherent, readily available, accurate, and secure to meet the business's information needs.
6. Make refinements to prototype and obtain approval by the line manager.
7. Identify, analyze, and present potential system enhancements to facilitate continuous improvement (technical performance and usability).
8. Collaborate with ABAP Developer to ensure that the solution meets both functional and technical requirements.
9. Configure the existing system to accommodate changes contained in the new design.
10. Test configuration against the design and make refinements to ensure that the solution performs as intended.
11. Facilitate and support the testing process of configuration changes.
12. Contribute to Project Management requirements as a project resource.
3. KPA 2: Manage System Changes According To The IT Change Methodology.
1. Adhere to the IT change management methodology for SANBS by undertaking the following:
2. Develop suitable technical specifications for changes to configuration, programs, and systems.
3. Ensure that adequate 'back out' plans are developed and in place before any new functionality is implemented.
4. Contribute to the development of test plans for the proposed solution.
5. Implement systems changes in the live environment.
6. Liaise with vendors and Business Analyst to move on live dates.
7. Make required system changes.
8. Monitor implemented changes.
9. Implement and test service pack or version upgrades for respective modules.
10. Contribute to the integration test of the module when service packs or version upgrades are undertaken or when new functionality is being implemented.
4. KPA 3: Ensures Knowledge And Skills Transfer To IT Stakeholders.
1. On-going knowledge transfer to IT stakeholders (Business Analyst, Support Analyst, Helpdesk Administrator, ABAP Developer).
2. Liaise with industry colleagues to improve and share skills via User Groups, Work Forums, and seminars.
3. Act as the subject matter expert for designated systems and remain current on systems analysis trends.
5. KPA 4: Provides User Support To Business.
1. Provides 3rd line support for incident management including incident closure.
2. Identifies, tracks, and resolves system problems.
3. Escalates system problems / opportunities to support partner and Application problems.
6. KPA 5: Maintenance Of Security And Access Control.
1. Provide assistance in ensuring that users have the appropriate level of system authorizations to execute their job functions without disruption.
2. Provide assistance and guidance to the SAP GRC and authorizations Administrator with the design and configuration of new user profiles and roles.

1. Relevant Diploma / Degree in IT or related Business Management field.
2. NQF rated Systems Analysis Certification.

Would be an advantage:

1. Project management foundation certification.

Experience and knowledge requirements:

1. Module integration with SAP version upgrade or service or enhancement pack implementation experience.
2. If SAP certified, 2 years' experience as a SAP Plant Maintenance systems analyst.
3. If not certified, 4-6 years' experience as a SAP Plant Maintenance systems analyst.
4. Interaction with senior stakeholders (Internal and External).
