A leading logistics company in South Africa is seeking an IT Project Manager responsible for defining, executing, and closing IT projects in collaboration with small teams. You will ensure the alignment of project plans across stakeholders, conduct User Acceptance Testing, and provide technical support for system functionalities, ultimately driving the IT strategy within the region.
Defines, documents, and executes IT projects or sub-projects independently or with a small team, actively participating in all phases.
Full responsibility for IT project.
Plans and monitors project tasks and resources, escalating issues when deviations occur.
Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to ensure project success.
Aligns project approach with stakeholders, prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk, and communication plans), and tracks activities against the schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as needed.
Ensures formal closure of projects, conducts reviews when appropriate, and records lessons learned.
Works directly with (future) users of applications and system integrations.
Understands business processes and translates them into application functionalities.
Configures system elements to support business processes or practices.
Supports User Acceptance Testing.
Trains end-users, super-users, and trainers on application use within a country.
Performs technical configurations of systems and applications based on business requirements.
Configures software parameters, activities, performs system maintenance, and documents systems.
Conducts internal and customer testing of applications according to business requests.
Supports and maintains local and regional IT Logistics services (including applications and relevant hardware).
Provides 1st level support and coordinates 2nd level support as needed.
Proactively supports users in the workplace environment, coordinating resolution of application, hardware, and software issues.
Creates temporary solutions until permanent fixes are implemented.
Manages and monitors service level agreement targets to ensure compliance.
Acts as liaison with clients for troubleshooting: investigates, analyzes, and resolves software problems, mapping client business requirements, processes, and objectives; develops necessary product modifications to meet client needs.
Maintains thorough knowledge of the organization and adheres to all standards.
Drives regional IT strategy within the SSA cluster and countries.
