This is a 12-month contract, full-time and onsite, in Johannesburg, role for a SAP Advanced Business Application Programming Developer. The SAP ABAP Developer will be responsible for programming tasks, developing and maintaining SAP applications, working with IDoc and BAPI, and implementing object-oriented programming (OOP) methodologies. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing user requirements, writing code, testing, debugging, and providing technical support.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP)
• Familiar with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general programming skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications in SAP ABAP development are essential

• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both

verbally and in writing) with both technical and non-technical colleagues/users.

•• Willingness and ability to work on weekends and public holidays on implementation and operations (IT Support) related tasks.

• Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required

Qualifications/Experience

• 8+ years of DevOps (Operations, configuration/development) experience in commercial/and/or retail end user IT applications

• Strong ABAP Development skills including but not limited to:

o Proven track record as a competent ABAP programmer.

o Good knowledge of Object Orientated Design Paradigms.

o Test Driven Development Methodologies and how to make new and existing code testable.

o Very strong understanding of optimized data retrieval and code performance techniques.
