Job Description

A position has become available for Sample Machinists at Prestige Clothing.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble a garment from start to finish using information from a pattern or Sample Bag (green seal) sent from Design Centre
  • Operate all machines used to make a sample garment
  • Find ways to make assembling of the garment production friendly
Requirements
  • A valid Service Record Card (SRC) with the Bargaining Council
  • Able to operate a variety of sewing machines
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Must be able to interpret a pattern, sketch and information
  • Must be able to sew all types of samples (e.g. pants, tops, skirt, dress, jackets) and fabrics (e.g. woven, knits)
  • Must have a good understanding of garment construction
  • Must be able to solve problems by involving the relevant people
  • Must have knowledge of the quality standard of garments
  • Must be punctual, driven and have good communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
