A position has become available for Sample Machinists at Prestige Clothing.

Responsibilities
  1. Assemble a garment from start to finish using information from a pattern or Sample Bag (green seal) sent from the Design Centre.
  2. Operate all machines used to make a sample garment.
  3. Find ways to make assembling the garment production-friendly.
Requirements
  1. A valid Service Record Card (SRC) with the Bargaining Council.
  2. Able to operate a variety of sewing machines.
  3. Must be able to read and write.
  4. Must be able to interpret a pattern, sketch, and information.
  5. Must be able to sew all types of samples (e.g., pants, tops, skirts, dresses, jackets) and fabrics (woven, knits).
  6. Must have a good understanding of garment construction.
  7. Must be able to solve problems by involving relevant people.
  8. Must have knowledge of garment quality standards.
  9. Must be punctual, driven, and have good communication skills.
  10. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
