Qualifications

Job description

The Sample Technician ensures the correct preparation and timely delivery of all Sample Requests for customers of Sensient Technologies South Africa. In this responsible position you are working closely with local and international colleagues in order to deliver on targets.

What you’ll do:
  • Prepare and dispatch samples to service customers and promote business strategy, sourcing samples from global Sensient sites
  • Inventory control and stocking of laboratory samples, keep excellent records by updating internal software system
  • Communication between Sensient South Africa and Sensient international affiliates
  • Monthly reporting on performance results and focus on continuous improvement
  • Adhere to KPI targets, and daily reporting on results
  • Seek to improve ways and methods to become more efficient and better serve internal and external customers
What you’ll bring:
  • A university degree in Food Science, Chemistry or a similar relevant education
  • Work experience in the food ingredients industry would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and handle multiple tasks in an effective manner
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders
  • Own transport as there may be occasional work requirements outside of normal hours
