Job summary

ilionx healthcare is seeking a Lead Solution Architect for a fully remote role based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will define enterprise architecture strategy, guide development teams, and ensure seamless integration of diverse systems to support business growth and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in IT with strong expertise in cloud, microservices, and enterprise architecture, plus leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in IT with at least 6 years in solution or enterprise architecture.
• Experience designing large-scale enterprise solutions, preferably in industrial sectors.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of microservices, SOA and event-driven architectures; cloud and security focus.

Responsibilities

• Define and oversee the execution of the enterprise-wide solution architecture strategy.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT, with a minimum of 6 years in solution architecture or enterprise architecture roles.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing large-scale enterprise solutions, preferably in industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong knowledge of various architectural styles, including microservices, SOA, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent understanding of data architecture, integration patterns, and cybersecurity principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly advantageous.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
