About the Role

  • We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and results-driven Sales Team Leader to join our Life Insurance Division at our Durban branch. As a Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the sales team, driving performance, and ensuring sales targets are met through effective people management. Your leadership will inspire excellence in customer centricity, enhance productivity, and support continuous development through coaching and training.

Key Responsibilities :

As the Sales Team Leader, you will :

  • Monitor and manage sales activities to ensure targets are met.
  • Assist in preparing financial documents, reports, and budget information for the branch.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives.
  • Manage sales productivity and performance.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Implement disciplinary processes and reward / recognition programs.
  • Coach and mentor the sales team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including FICA, TCF, and FAIS.
  • Collaborate with the branch teams to support activations and product presentations.
  • Coordinate sales initiatives, source allocation, and site visits.
  • Manage marketing strategies and product training programs.
  • Compile and distribute sales reports.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and service providers to ensure smooth service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Regulatory Exam (RE 5)
  • Regulatory Exam for Key Individuals (advantageous)
  • FSCA-recognized qualification on NQF Level 4
  • 2 years’ experience in sales within the insurance / financial services industry
  • 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Valid Driver License (manual transmission)
