Job description

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with existing clients across South Africa.
  • Act as the primary technical and commercial point of contact for client accounts, providing expert support and solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Conduct regular client visits, reviews, and feedback sessions to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct detailed market research to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive dynamics in the high-volume manufacturing and packaging industries.
  • Develop and execute a clear market penetration strategy to increase the companys share of wallet with existing clients and secure new business.
  • Drive sales of high-volume manufacturing solutions, equipment, and / or services, meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Generate and qualify leads, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts in line with company policies.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including technical presentations, tender submissions, and closing agreements.
  • Leverage your mechanical engineering knowledge to understand client requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Prepare accurate tenders, quotations, and costing agreements in alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
  • Provide input into product development and improvement initiatives based on customer feedback and market insights.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or Similar Degree
  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment , with a track record of developing client relationships and delivering sales growth.
  • Strong exposure to the packaging industry will be a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in tenders, costing, and commercial negotiations .
  • Excellent understanding of the South African manufacturing and industrial landscape.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, CRM tools, and basic financial modelling.
  • Willing and able to travel nationally as required.
  • Based in the East Rand , with a valid drivers license and own transport.
