Job description

Location: Cape Town area
Industry: Electronic engineering and manufacturing industry (established company)
Salary: R18k – R40k p/m neg on experience
Benefits: Provident fund & medical aid
Type: Full-time
Start date: Preferably asap or after notice period

Main role: Establish & maintain business relationships with new customers in the electronic engineering and manufacturing industry.

Qualifications and skills:

  1. Completed Grade 12
  2. Suitable technical qualification and experience in Electronic Engineering (Light Current).
  3. Preferably three or more years’ experience in the electronic engineering or sales environment.
  4. Fully computer literate, MS Office especially in Excel (Spreadsheets).
  5. Strong attention to detail and ability to complete projects.
  6. Strong aptitude for sales.
  7. Strong aptitude for figures & accuracy.
  8. Excellent communication skills, ability to liaise with managers, engineers and technical staff.
  9. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  11. Presentable & groomed.
  12. Bilingual skills.
  13. Valid driver’s license.
  14. Own reliable transport.

Duties:
  1. Establish, develop & maintain business relationships with existing and new customers in the electronic engineering and manufacturing industry.
  2. Make appointments for daily visits to current and prospective customers to maintain and generate new business.
  3. Assist design engineers in selecting suitable parts for new designs.
  4. Identify and offer replacement parts for existing designs to engineers and buyers.
  5. Research sources and analyse the market for developing new potential customers.
  6. Organise and plan a personal sales strategy to maximize return and time investment.
  7. Achieve growth and account penetration by effectively marketing all product lines.
  8. Manage accurate forecasts and achieve targets.
  9. Supply management with regular verbal or written reports as to customer potential, prospects, new products, competitive activities, requirements, lost orders or any problems that may arise.
