Job description

We are a leading provider of high-quality heavy equipment in Southern Africa, specializing in excavators, cranes, concrete equipment, wheel loaders, and road machinery. We are seeking a driven Sales Representative to join our team and help grow our presence in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a sales strategy for excavators, cranes, and related machinery.
  2. Identify new business opportunities within construction, mining, infrastructure, and road building industries.
  3. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  4. Conduct product presentations and on-site demonstrations.
  5. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to meet sales targets.
  6. Collaborate with marketing to enhance brand presence and generate leads.
  7. Provide after-sales support and maintain accurate records.

Desired Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 / Matric education.
  • Tertiary qualification in Sales or Marketing (advantageous).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ sales experience within the earthmoving, mining, or construction equipment industry, specifically in selling excavators.
  • Proven track record of sales success with products such as excavators, road, piling, and concrete machinery.
  • Experience working with both manufacturers and resellers is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of earthmoving machinery and related products.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, strong negotiation skills, and closing sales.
  • Solid understanding of pricing, estimates, and basic financial concepts related to sales.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with CRM software packages.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, both in cold calling and customer liaison.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, troubleshoot issues, and offer solutions effectively.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate them clearly to customers.
  • Proactive marketing capacity and the ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Sound judgment in making quick and effective decisions.
