We are looking for a Sales Representative to join our Diabetes Business Unit at Novo Nordisk South Africa. The incumbent will be East London based and cover East London, King William’s Town, Queenstown, Mthatha, and other towns in Eastern Cape, and will report directly to the Field Sales Manager.

This is a fixed term position (2 years).

The position

As a Sales Representative in Diabetes at Novo Nordisk, your key responsibilities will be to build and maintain strong relationships with health care professionals in the Diabetes field. A strong performer is needed to achieve sales targets and growth in the allocated territory, by promoting Novo Nordisk products to healthcare professionals. This will require that you execute sales strategies effectively, efficiently and ethically and participate as a member of a high performing team. The role will further require that you build consultative relationships with clinicians, pharmacists, nurses and other pharmaceutical and related stakeholders.

Qualifications

You hold a University Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Medicine / Pharmacy / Biology or related Science or Paramedical qualification. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of English and Xhosa; and good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point). Moreover, you have:

  1. 2 - 3 years of experience as a Sales Representative in the pharmaceutical industry. It will be a plus to have previous experience in diabetes.

Valid driving Licence

You are able to demonstrate an ability and passion to influence from a patient-centred approach and have strong attention to quality and details.

You have good planning and organisational skills and the agility and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment.

You have the ability to engage people with different backgrounds (Science, business, etc.) and work within a diverse environment.

You have good decision making, problem-solving skills, presentation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to negotiate.

As a person, you are a dynamic high-performer with a strong performance-driven track record who is highly engaged and demonstrates a willingness to collaborate with stakeholders, business development and drive your personal development.

About the department

Novo Nordisk South Africa is looking to appoint a Sales Representative who will be changing possibilities for people living with diabetes, by promoting and selling Novo Nordisk products to selected targeted customers in the East London area through implementation of the agreed Marketing and Sales strategies in a manner that is consistent with operational requirements and upholding the Novo Nordisk Way.
