Job description

Our Client is looking for a results-driven Sales Representative to actively seek out and engage customer prospects and work from their North West branch.

You will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation, LV Distribution Boards, Field Isolators, Instrumentation Control Panels, Steel fabrication of Cable Rack supports, offsets, Instrument Stands, Light Poles, DB & Panel Stands and base plates, in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Activities: Actively seek out new customers through cold calling, networking and referrals.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets: Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
  • Establish, develop and maintain professional, positive business and customer relationships.
  • Monitoring competitors' sales activities.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Maintaining client records.
  • Products/services and market knowledge.
  • Cross sell products/services.
  • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects.
  • Negotiating contracts and prices.
  • Planning sales strategies.
  • Schedule meetings and presentations with prospects.
  • Stay up to date with new products/services.
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximise satisfaction.
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
  • Analyse the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports.
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends.
  • Continuously improve through feedback.


REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

  • At least three years' proven experience in sales preferably in a SMEIP Construction environment.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Electrical and or Instrumentation Trade Certificate
  • Computer literate


Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
  • Ability to source new clients or give reasonable leads.
  • Able to identify market opportunities.


Duration:
  • This is a 12-month position with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance.
