SUMMARY :

One of our clients is seeking a Sales Production Planner for their Boksburg branch.

POSITION INFO :

Main Responsibilities

• Coordinate, control, and manage the production planning and job costing for new sub-assembly, manufactured, and electrical harness/panel kit sales.
• Provide training and plan production of the new sub-assembly sales production line, assisting in development to enhance business operations across South Africa.
• Production Planning: Create production schedules using Visual Manufacturing MRP System and/or Excel to track and manage daily workloads, provide feedback on manufacturing hours, and generate reports. Monitor, analyze, and report on production performance, coordinate with internal departments, and assist in managing production schedules.
• Releasing: Maintain and supervise the master database in the MRP system, research discrepancies, and resolve issues. Support clerical tasks, stay informed on projects, and improve processes related to engineering releases.
• Estimating: Quantify production job costs and report findings to the Finance Cost Accountant, considering margins and quotes.
• Resource Planning: Develop models to recommend resource requirements to meet revenue and productivity targets.
• Expediting: Communicate shortages and deadlines to procurement and key accounts to ensure timely deliveries.
• Budget Control: Assist in managing costs of sub-assemblies, harnesses, and modifications based on signed works orders.
• Administration: Ensure proper documentation and supervision of job admin processes in the MRP system, communicate job costings, and utilize management systems for data recording.

Essential Requirements:

• Grade 12 and/or N3 equivalent.
• At least 3 years of planning or management experience in a manufacturing sales environment.
• Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing or other MRP/ERP systems.
• High computer literacy (Excel, Microsoft Projects, Office).
• Experience with ISO Quality Management System.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans (verbal and written).
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, conflict management, time management, problem-solving, attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, dependable, honest, with own transport and valid driver’s license.

Desired Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Project Management, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
• Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management.
• Proven track record, excellent presentation skills, technical knowledge, mining industry experience, BC MRP experience.
