Sales Engineer PEM & Bakery - Southern and Eastern Africa

Location

Role Overview

The Sales Engineer will focus on extrusion & milling, bakery, and FHT sectors. Responsibilities include planning and executing direct marketing and sales activities within budget, achieving sales targets, and focusing on regional growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and develop existing and new customer relationships through planned visits and liaising with internal teams.
  2. Increase market penetration via face-to-face meetings and interactions, maintaining customer databases and recording activities on CRM platforms.
  3. Conduct market research on competitors and market surveys.
  4. Manage the complete sales cycle from initial contact to post-project service agreements.
  5. Respond to sales inquiries and follow up via telephone, email, and personal visits.
  6. Report activities and provide management with relevant information.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and attend training for skill development.
  8. Coordinate with logistics for ordering, transportation, delivery, and installation of equipment.
  9. Build a network of contacts for resource advice inside and outside the organization.
  10. Maintain confidence when handling negative situations and develop creative solutions.
  11. Develop ideas and offers for sales and marketing initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Technical or marketing tertiary qualification.
  2. At least 5 years of relevant experience in similar roles, with significant front sales experience in a technical environment.
  3. Deep knowledge of the complete sales process within a multinational, including ordering, pricing, and CRM.
  4. Proven skills in international negotiation and contracting across multiple countries.
  5. Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management.
  6. Experience in the Food and Healthcare industries is advantageous.
  7. Broad international business understanding with a focus on customer needs and fulfillment.
  8. Open-minded, solution-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  9. Excellent communication skills, customer orientation, and ability to engage at various levels.
  10. Deep understanding of global compliance regulations.
