Job Description
- Our client is a technical training provider with a wide range of programmes designed to address the skills required in the rapidly developing technical environment.
- We are looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to join their dynamic team.
Job Purpose :
- Position is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and refining the marketing and sales strategies and tactics to promote a company's services, managing sales teams, introducing new services and driving revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Weighting of Key Performance Areas :
- Financial Performance Pillar (30%).
- Business Processes Pillar (40%).
- Stakeholders Satisfaction Pillar (20%).
Financial Performance :
- Deliver on sales targets of the company by allocating responsibility to Sales staff and ensuring these are delivered upon.
- Create, manage and execute annual marketing budget (approximately R2m p.a).
- Create remuneration structure for Sales Consultants including variable compensation to meet company’s sales objectives.
- Manage expenses of Sales and Marketing cost centre ensuring budgets are adhered to.
- Perform Return on Investment calculations on all marketing activities and adjusting these to deliver maximum return.
Business Processes :
- Develop overall Marketing strategy in line with the Company strategy.
- Develop marketing strategies for each Customer (Stakeholder) segment with appropriate customer persona’s and communication plans.
- Conduct ongoing market research with analysis of trends, consumer behaviour and competitor activities to inform marketing strategies and sales tactics.
- Track all quotes and Tenders by potential Clients and ensure quotes and / or tenders are submitted on time and to the desired level of professionalism.
- Actively create sales pipeline across various Customer segments across multiple years.
- Co-create educational Programmes in conjunction with the business and market these to achieve sales targets.
- Recruit, train and manage Sales & Marketing staff fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
- Develop and maintain Corporate Identity manual and ensure its consistent application in all communications.
- Manage the performance and deliverables of external marketing agency.
- Manage procurement for all marketing materials while ensuring these deliver the desired return on investment while costs are controlled within budget.
Stakeholders Satisfaction :
- Internal client : timeous delivery of campaigns with communication to internal clients regarding issues.
- External : Maintain relationships with key Clients understanding their needs and identifying new marketing opportunities.
- Suppliers : Follow internal procurement policy for the listing of approved service providers and payment of valid invoices within approved limits.
- Debtors : Ensure Sales staff follow-up on outstanding payments from Debtors and personally get involved when amounts become overdue.
- Management : Produce monthly reports on effectiveness of marketing campaigns with post motrums on past campaigns and proposals for future campaigns.
- Management : Maintain Customer Relationship Management System ensuring accuracy of data reported.
Learning & Growth :
- Performance Management of team ensuring clear communication of expectations and performance against these.
- Attend RC, departmental and stakeholder meetings and workshops to keep abreast of latest developments at such events.
- Plan own learning and training schedule to ensure effective execution of own job and support the lifelong learning philosophy.
- Participate and contribute to problem solving discussions and ideation for innovation in the workplace in support of the continuous improvement & healthy workplace philosophy.
- Be the custodian of own and departmental knowledge and information that will ensure effective long term personal, team and organisational growth.
Requirements
- Degree in Commerce with Marketing major (Mandatory)
- 10+ years’ combined Sales and Marketing experience
- Experience in both B2B and B2C environments (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, activations, and social media
- Strong analytical and ROI evaluation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
- Proven leadership experience managing Sales & Marketing teams
- Experience with marketing strategy development and execution
- Demonstrated ability to manage marketing budgets (~R2M p.a.)
- Track record in managing campaigns, tenders, and sales pipelines
- Experience managing external agencies and procurement processes
- Commitment to continuous learning and team performance management
- Ability to align marketing strategies with business goals
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and CRM system management
- High attention to detail, organised, and deadline-driven
- Salary : R50 000 – R70 000 CTC (depending on experience)
- 21 days leave
- 13th cheque based on profitability
- Hybrid – first 3 months in office
