Minimum requirements for the role :
- A tertiary qualification in either chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience working within the water treatment or related industry is essential.
- Experience in a managerial role is preferred but not essential, provided the candidate has the ability to lead a team of sales and service staff.
- Experience in the boiler, cooling, potable, clarification, effluent, and related water industries is preferred.
- Proven success in managing multi-disciplinary sales teams and achieving sales targets.
- Technical knowledge of water treatment processes, chemistry, and equipment (boilers, cooling systems, wastewater, reverse osmosis, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience in boiler, cooling water, and effluent water treatment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Managing and leading a sales and technical team at customer sites across industrial, municipal, commercial, and institutional water treatment markets, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and market share objectives aligned with the company's water treatment portfolio.
- Preparing and meeting regional sales budgets, and overseeing sales and service of customers.
- Accompanying sales and service staff on visits to strategic and major accounts to assess account status.
- Training, coaching, and motivating staff within the region.
- Providing monthly regional reports to your manager on activities, sales results, and competitor activities.
- Reviewing progress towards goals and adjusting sales strategies with senior management approval.
- Participating in industry conferences, exhibitions, and professional societies to stay updated on market developments.
- Developing and implementing regional sales strategies aligned with national objectives.
- Leading the region to meet or exceed sales targets for water treatment chemicals, systems, and equipment.
- Offering technical support and problem-solving for complex water treatment issues.
- Conducting client visits, presentations, and negotiations to build long-term partnerships.
- Ensuring timely resolution of client issues and service excellence.
- Managing regional expenses, sales forecasts, and product stock levels.
- Monitoring individual performance, recognizing talent, and conducting bi-annual performance reviews.
