Minimum requirements for the role :
- A tertiary qualification in either chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience working within the water treatment or related industry is essential for the role.
- Previous managerial experience is preferred but not essential, as long as the candidate has the ability to lead a team of sales and service staff.
- Experience in the boiler, cooling, potable, clarification, effluent, and related water industries is preferred.
- Proven success in managing multi-disciplinary sales teams and achieving sales targets.
- Technical knowledge of water treatment processes, chemistry, and equipment (boiler, cooling, wastewater, reverse osmosis, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Managing and leading a sales and technical team at customer sites within the industrial, municipal, commercial, and institutional water treatment markets, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and market share objectives aligned with the company’s water treatment solutions.
- Preparing and meeting regional sales budgets; responsible for sales and service of customers.
- Accompanying sales and service staff during visits to strategic and major accounts to assess account status.
- Training, coaching, and motivating staff in the region.
- Providing monthly regional reports to your manager outlining activities, sales results, and competitive activities.
- Evaluating progress and adjusting sales strategies with senior management approval as needed.
- Participating in industry conferences, exhibitions, and professional societies to stay updated on market developments.
- Developing and executing district sales strategies aligned with regional and national goals.
- Leading the district to meet or exceed sales targets for water treatment chemicals, systems, and equipment.
- Offering technical support and problem-solving for complex water treatment issues.
- Conducting client visits, presentations, and negotiations to foster long-term partnerships.
- Ensuring timely resolution of client issues and service excellence.
- Managing the regional expenses budget, sales forecasts, and inventory holdings.
- Monitoring individual performance, recognizing talent, and conducting bi-annual performance reviews.
