This role is a regional sales management position responsible for managing a team of new and vested Financial Advisors. You will recruit advisors for your portfolio (both new and experienced) and oversee their training, vesting, and development.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Create and drive sales plans, targets, and growth
  • Support marketing and business development efforts
  • Coach and develop Financial Advisors
  • Manage business retention processes
  • Ensure compliance and manage risks
  • Enable practice management
  • Oversee quality and productivity management
  • Provide people and performance management
  • Manage budgets and expenses of the team
  • Recruit new and experienced financial intermediaries
Success in this role requires:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in financial services sales/marketing
  • Leadership experience in sales and operations management
  • Management diploma
  • Relevant financial or business degree/diploma
  • CFP/RFP3 or equivalent (120 credits)
  • RE certification

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and products (Sanlam and competitors)
  • Legal and technical knowledge related to financial products
  • Understanding of regulatory legislation (FAIS accredited)
  • Business planning and process management
  • Knowledge of advisor contracts, remuneration, sales, and marketing processes
  • Skills in managing staff, budgets, and expenses
