Job description

Your Purpose...
  • To make exercise irresistible
  • To, on a monthly basis, deliver club sales results in line with, or exceeding, budget.
  • To create and maintain a high-performing sales team to achieve customer acquisition and revenue growth targets. This role will be responsible for maximizing our sales potential through coaching and adjusting sales plans as needed to ensure desired results.
Your Duties and Responsibilities...
  • Achieve growth and consistently meet sales targets by successfully leading the sales team.
  • Make recommendations to sales plans, review and prepare action plans, and coach the team for successful delivery.
  • Implement customer service standards, resolve queries, complete audits, identify trends, and implement changes as needed.
  • Maintain and develop a high-performance sales team by leading, developing, coaching, mentoring, communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, reviewing contributions, and enforcing policies.
  • Perform administrative and management functions in line with deadlines.
  • Perform manager on duty (MOD) duties (Fitness and Fitness Plus only, other club types as required).
  • Selling memberships to achieve set monthly budgets and sales goals.
  • Complete all administrative procedures required by the company.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and market Virgin Active memberships to the surrounding community and corporate organizations.
  • Follow up on leads provided in club and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain sprint backlogs with Scrum teams and monitor project deliverables for timely completion.

  • Matric Certificate
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a sales management role managing a sales team
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a sales environment (preferably in a similar industry) or as a sales consultant
  • Proven successful track record in solution sales environment
  • Highly numerate, financially astute, understanding budgeting processes
  • Knowledge of financial reports, e.g., P&L
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals under pressure
  • Completed Pro-active Sales Manager training (Internal candidates)
