Job description

To recruit, maintain, and develop sales representatives and brokers, and set targets.

Develop and maintain sales and marketing plans

  1. Develop an integrated sales & marketing plan
  2. Implement and align the marketing plan with the regional plan and submit it to management
  3. Review and update the strategic plan regularly
  4. Compile reports on progress made on the strategic plan
  5. Communicate the strategic plan to sales representatives

Perform recruitment and selection processes for sales representatives

  1. Advertise and market representative positions through presentations
  2. Select applicants in accordance with FSCA requirements and implement assessment and selection batteries

Conduct training for sales representatives

  1. Facilitate pre-course and post-course training
  2. Responsible for on-the-job assessment of representatives

Conduct coaching processes

  1. Provide technical support and motivation to representatives
  2. Coach representatives on improving their selling skills
  3. Provide recognition through the performance management system

Conduct training for brokers

  1. Ensure brokers are equipped with sufficient documentation, e.g., application forms
  2. Handle administrative queries on behalf of dedicated brokers
  3. Check business methods of dedicated brokers and advise accordingly
  4. Update brokers regularly on Assupol products and services
  5. Ensure brokers' computer software is up to date regarding Assupol products and services
  6. Build professional business relationships with brokers

Identify and develop new and current markets

  1. Identify, penetrate, and develop new markets
  2. Maintain contacts with key decision makers and insurance industry resources (new and existing)
  3. Retain and increase market share in existing markets
  4. Manage business retention
  5. Conduct product presentations in the market

Maintain production targets and retain business

  1. Ensure and monitor achievement of set production targets
  2. Maintain business retention

Comply with FAIS requirements

  1. Supervise representatives when rendering services under supervision
  2. Submit supervision evidence to MSSI monthly
  3. Mentor and train supervisees to ensure proper understanding of products
  4. Observe meetings between representatives and clients

Compliance

  1. Handle complaints
  2. Monitor number of complaints received
  3. Number of complaints referred for investigation (forensic)
  4. Number of complaints referred for debarment hearings based on outcomes from the debarment committee

Training and Awareness

  1. Refresher training
  2. New product training
  3. Record of Advice
  4. Completion of application forms
