Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this job is to conduct Sales & Business Development activities for Measurement Solutions (Pressure, Temp, Analyzer, Flow, and Level Field Instrumentation, Wireless products) in the Metals and Mining Industry within South Africa and Southern African Countries. This position aims to promote traditional Measurement Solutions technology, facilitate competitive displacement, develop new applications, and encourage technology adoption of Emerson products/solutions to grow business in the metals & mining sector.
Responsibilities:
- Drive sales, business development, and support project pursuits to meet or exceed BU financial targets for the Metals & Mining industry.
- Identify growth opportunities and manage sales opportunities in targeted Metals & Mining accounts (Mining Customers, EPCs/System Integrators) across South Africa, Southern, and East African countries.
- Understand application challenges and needs for field instrumentation in the industry, and recommend suitable Emerson Measurement solutions accordingly.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate new customers and projects, maintaining an accurate pursuit list and monthly sales forecast.
- Provide monthly reports and forecasts to the Sales Director and meet sales targets.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by engaging with end users to understand their needs and providing appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with regional sales teams, Product Managers, LBPs, and cross-BU resources to ensure timely, competitive, and customer-focused proposals.
- Liaise with customers, Emerson teams, and LBPs to prioritize efforts, gather competitive intelligence, and improve customer service.
- Stay updated on product developments, industry trends, and market conditions.
- Prepare marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, competitor intelligence, and country marketing plans in partnership with regional managers or country leaders.
- Work with other Emerson Business groups to enhance content and identify new opportunities.
- Strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones with customers and third-party personnel influencing buying decisions.
- Perform other duties as required and ensure compliance with trade procedures.

Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or relevant work experience.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Sales and Marketing, with at least 5 years selling Field Instrumentation (Pressure/Temp transmitters, Flow meters, Level measurement, Analyzers) to Metals & Mining customers/end users.
- Knowledge of the Metals & Mining Industry and its challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A proven track record of business growth.
- At least 5 years of active relationships with Metals & Mining end users, EPCs, and consultants.
