Job description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the team as a Sales Manager. The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales team, developing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth within the waste management sector.

POSITION INFO :

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company goals and increase market share in the waste management industry.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives. Foster a high-performance sales culture through coaching and performance management.
  3. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, trends, and customer needs within the waste management sector.
  4. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners. Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  5. Sales Targets: Set and monitor sales targets for the team. Analyse sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives.
  6. Proposal Development: Oversee the development of sales proposals, presentations, and contracts. Ensure all documentation is accurate and aligns with company standards.
  7. Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales department budget. Monitor expenses and ensure alignment with financial goals.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as marketing, operations, and finance to support overall business objectives and ensure cohesive operations.
  9. Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge :

  1. Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a management role within the waste management or environmental services industry.
  2. In-depth understanding of the waste management industry, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and operational processes.
  3. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Strong negotiation, closing, and account management skills.

  2. Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans. Strong analytical skills for market analysis and forecasting.

  6. Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant sales and marketing tools.
  7. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and company priorities. Flexibility to travel as needed.
  8. Fully Bilingual, must be able to speak Afrikaans fluently.
  9. Experience in leading a team of 5 to 10 people in the Sales Department.
  10. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the waste management industry, and a proven track record in sales.
