Job Summary

The Sales Manager will take a leadership role to develop, direct, and handle all Flow Controls sales, service, and informative services activities in ACS Northern, Southern, KZN, and Northern Cape territories as part of the Southeast African Region of Emerson Automation Solutions. The role also includes being a Product Specialist responsible for the Digital Valve Controller and Digital Valve Services business development in the SEA region. This position combines technical expertise with sales skills in a high-profile, differentiating market, making it impactful. The role reports to the Regional Sales Manager, Flow Controls - South & East Africa Region, with a dotted line to the MEA IBU Leader - Instrumentation Technologies.

Additionally, the Sales Manager will lead business development activities to grow the FCV Severe Service portfolio across SEA, working with local Business Partners to upgrade existing installations and displace competitors with engineered FCV solutions.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead the Flow Controls Business Unit for solutions, products, and services sales & business development in ACS Northern, Southern, North Cape & KZN territories, including budget allocation.
  • Meet or exceed territory financial objectives (budget, POR, etc.) in support of the Flow Controls MEA business plan.
  • Understand market dynamics through sales insights, market research, and competitive analysis; collaborate across Emerson Business Units.
  • Develop regional sales strategies for Southeast Africa and build regional sales and LBP teams to grow FIELDVUE instrumentation for niche applications (SIS, ODV, PD).
  • Support and develop sales representatives in the country.
  • Implement sales and service strategies for the country.
  • Drive growth of KOB3 business and enhance revenue from the existing installed base.
  • Plan migration from traditional analogue positioners to Emerson's digital technology aligned with digitalization roadmaps.
  • Prepare marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, competitor intelligence, and marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with FCV and cross-BU sales teams to grow the IBU and Digital Transformation funnel.
  • Work proactively with the Global Project Pursuit Team and local sales to pursue valve projects and increase order conversion.
  • Develop relationships with senior management within customer accounts to promote Emerson's capabilities.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by providing tailored solutions.
  • Stay updated on product, industry, and market developments.
  • Ensure compliance with Emerson ethics and trade procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with regional sales leaders and project teams in SEA.

  • A degree in engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA is advantageous but not necessary.
  • Consistent profitable sales growth experience.
  • Experience in hydrocarbon, mining, chemical, or power industries is a plus.
