A leading company in the logistics sector is seeking a Sales Manager to drive new business sales and manage the sales team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for both developing new sales opportunities and maintaining existing customer relationships, ensuring exceptional service standards are met. Ideal candidates will have at least 7 years of high-level sales experience, preferably within logistics, and possess strong leadership and reporting skills.
The Sales Manager's main responsibility will be to drive new business sales revenue with the objective of meeting and exceeding the annual branch revenue target.
The secondary responsibility will be to maintain and develop the existing customer portfolio
Duties include :
Management of the Sales team
Facilitation of sales leads -The Sales Manager must ensure that a full and comprehensive pipeline of potential sales leads are consistently sourced and identified by the sales team in the branch to ensure a healthy source of potential account opportunities are at hand to facilitate new business activity
Reporting -A full scope of sales pipeline, industry analysis, and weekly and monthly activity reports as well as individual KPI and financial reports are fed through to the National Commercial Manager on set dates.
Provide Feedback / Updates to staff -TheSales Manager must ensure that senior management and all relevant departments are informed of any issue or concerns that are affecting the acquisition of new clients in order for the company to strive to new levels of customer service and identify any problem areas in the company in order to respond timeously
Minimum Requirements :
Matric or Relevant Senior Certification equivalent
MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
Knowledge of Parcel Perfect billing system
Minimum of 7 years high level sales experience, preferably from the Logistics Industry
Previous experience in managing and leading a sales team
Exposure to Courier Systems, Products and Procedures imperative
