Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop Business Plans: Sales Managers oversee the Sales department, developing overall business plans including sales strategies and profit goals. This involves performing territory and sales analyses, assessing results, and adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Secure Sales: A key function is securing sales for the company, both directly and through team members. This includes closing individual sales and contracts via phone, email, or in person during sales visits.
- Build Relationships: Building and maintaining relationships with potential and current clients is essential. The Sales Manager networks to form new relationships and follows up through various communication channels.
- Lead the Sales Team: Leading a team of salespeople involves training, holding conference calls, reviewing expense reports, coaching, motivating, and supporting team members to achieve sales goals.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales with a successful track record.
- Industry experience in office supplies, stationery, and furniture.
- Minimum 10 years of experience dealing with private and public sector clients.
- Experience managing a team of at least ten sales representatives.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
