SALES MANAGER - BUILDING SUPPLIES - EAST LONDON
Job Description:

Managing the day to day running of sales personnel. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Planning of daily workflow.
  2. Management of staff, providing clear, directive instructions, informed training, and job description development. Oversee performance of all staff.
  3. Preparation for weekly meetings.
  4. Reporting concisely on all movement of teams, i.e., current to target, variance, and action plan to close the gap.
  5. Identifying developmental needs within the team and taking action in line with company rules and standards.
  6. Identifying ways to motivate the team to exceed sales.
  7. Identifying ways to encourage basket sales in markets (full range of building material).
  8. Interacting with all customers (new, potential, established).
  9. Proactively being involved in all aspects of the sales team.
  10. Implementing new promotions as directed and suggesting promotions and concepts for consideration.
  11. Maintaining thorough communication with all relevant parties, including customers, sales team, and management.
  12. Submission of final reports and new month planning.
  13. Preparation for new month - target discussion with sales schedule site.
  14. Anticipating and planning for all possible scenarios in retail, RDP, municipal sectors, and reporting.
  15. Logbook check for company vehicles of the team.
  16. Signing off salary information regarding overtime and commissions.
  17. Discussing planning with the Senior Sales Manager and reporting continually during the course of the day.
  18. Responding to all written (Text/Email/WhatsApp) inquiries in a timely manner.
  19. Reporting all staff matters immediately.
  20. Reporting on actual vs. target and action plan to fill the void.
  21. Ensuring all admin functions are carried out efficiently and within company parameters.
  22. Overseeing sales portfolio - queries, discounts, upcoming projects, quotations, follow-up on leads, and off-site meetings with customers.
  23. Sales Manager directly reports to Directors and Senior Sales Manager.
  24. Overseeing all teams' sales and associated functions.
