SALES MANAGER - BUILDING SUPPLIES - EAST LONDON

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to oversee daily sales operations in the building supplies sector.

The role involves managing sales staff, developing strategies to exceed sales targets, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Plan daily workflow and oversee staff performance through clear instructions and training.

Prepare for weekly meetings and report on team progress, including target achievements and variance analysis.

Identify developmental needs within the team and motivate staff to surpass sales goals.

Encourage basket sales across a full range of building materials.

Engage proactively with all customers, including new, potential, and established clients.

Implement and suggest promotional activities and concepts.

Maintain thorough communication with customers, sales team, and management.

Prepare final reports and plan for the upcoming month, including target discussions and scenario planning.

Manage administrative functions efficiently, including vehicle log checks, salary sign-offs, and staff matters.

Oversee sales portfolio, handle queries, discounts, quotations, and follow-up on leads.

Report directly to Directors and Senior Sales Manager and oversee all sales team functions.

Requirements

Existing relationships within the hardware retail and municipal sectors are essential.

Proven experience in sales management within the building supplies industry.

Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
