Introduction

What is a Sales Manager?

As an accredited Sales Manager with Old Mutual, you will represent and lead your team with the ideals and values to which the company has subscribed for over 175 years - Integrity, Professionalism, Customer-first, Advice led.

Duties & Responsibilities

A sales manager:

  1. Ensures delivery of customer value.
  2. Ensures compliance to processes & procedures to minimise business risk.
  3. Is responsible for the distribution strategy of products within a branch.
  4. Is accountable for local marketing, networking and relationship building with key door openers.
  5. Manages and is accountable for the sales & expense budget for a sales team in a branch against set targets.
  6. Identifies & creates coordinated sales opportunities through others.
  7. Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others.
  8. Plans & assigns work over periods of up to three months.
  9. Guides and leads staff to achieve operational excellence standards and creates a climate for optimal performance.
  10. The role calls for formal in-house training, the completion of the prescribed Regulatory exams, and accreditation with the Financial Services Regulatory authority and requires continuous professional development.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  1. Gr12 (Matric)
  2. FSCA Approved Qualification
  3. FAIS Compliant
  4. Product category experience (Long term Insurance subcategory B1, Long term Insurance subcategory B2 and Retail pension benefit)
  5. CPD - Continuous Professional Development - All circles
  6. CoB - Class of Business
  7. A valid Driver's licence and your own car
  8. A clear criminal and credit check
  9. Proven computer literacy (MS Office suite)
  10. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  11. Previous Managerial experience
  12. Knowledge and exposure to Group Schemes advantageous
  13. (Internal) Successful completion of MODP (This applies for applicants who have previously worked for Old Mutual)
  14. (External) Managerial qualification - advantageous
