My client, a well-established company in the fruit industry, has a career opportunity for a Sales Manager who possesses excellent negotiation, organisational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a Food Technology or similar qualification, strong sales and management experience in a similar industry, and at least 4 years of proven experience. B2B experience is considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan
  • Develop the annual sales budget and targets for all regions, including international markets
  • Monitor actual sales against the budget from all sales executives and report monthly to management
  • Present strategic plans to improve client results
  • Achieve overall margin targets set by management
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends and provide regular feedback, including competitor behaviour and trends
  • Provide product and customer forecasts to the planning department
  • Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, and planning to ensure optimal contracts, availability, and pricing
  • Set and maintain standard pricing based on product cost price
  • Manage and support the sales team with customer-specific pricing
  • Set annual KPIs for the sales team and track progress quarterly
  • Manage and grow your customer base in Western and Eastern Cape
  • Expand sales into Southern Africa by identifying potential customers and introducing the company portfolio to generate sales
  • Hire, train, motivate, and advise the sales team
  • Ensure contracts, price lists, and customer information are up-to-date in Sage
  • Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations and applicable laws

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 4 years of proven experience as a Key Account Manager and/or Sales Manager in the food or fruit industry
  • Highly goal-oriented, assertive, and a hands-on problem solver
