About the Role

The Sales team at Footballco leads the agency and brand direct business, targeting both established and emerging companies in football. Your role involves building long-term relationships with brand marketing and media decision-makers to unlock new revenue through branded content and media partnerships, primarily focusing on our flagship football platform: GOAL in the South African market.

You will need a strong understanding of brand strategies, think strategically and creatively, and collaborate across teams to generate solutions for media agencies and direct clients. You will be provided with clear client and agency targets and will be responsible for achieving your individual sales goals while contributing to the wider Africa Sales team objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Deliver six-figure media and content partnerships with media agencies and brands targeting football audiences.
  • Promote Footballco's digital media offerings through regular outreach and proposals.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction via ongoing communication and resolve post-sale issues.
  • Upsell and secure repeat business, and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create tailored sales solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with agency and client contacts.
Qualifications
  • Proven success in sales, exceeding targets in media and branded content sales.
  • Experience in football and within Johannesburg's top media agencies and brands is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the media agency landscape and experience selling into key clients and agencies.
  • Ability to develop proposals and present to agency and brand teams.
  • Experience with content deals, sponsorships, or sports sponsorship roles.
  • Ability to connect client needs with solutions, with a proactive, self-starter attitude.
