Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Sales Manager will take full leadership of the Companys sales function, playing a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, developing and executing strategic market penetration plans, and leading a high-performing sales team.

This role requires deep technical knowledge of industrial valves and piping systems, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to manage key customer relationships while developing new business channels.

This is a senior leadership position with substantial influence across the organisation, contributing to strategic decisions and business performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute the companys sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to drive performance and professional growth.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, markets, and client relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and areas for expansion.
  • Oversee the preparation of competitive proposals, tenders, and quotations.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales and delivery strategies.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and contractual obligations.

1. Sales Leadership & Strategy :

  • Plan and lead the sales strategy in line with company goals
  • Provide product specific technical support to the sales team and customers.
  • Set and manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets
  • Lead sales budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure competitive pricing, good product positioning, and strong sales promotions
  • 2. Key Accounts & Customer Relationships :

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
  • Lead major tenders, proposals, and technical sales meetings
  • Find and grow new customers, distributors, and market opportunities
  • Highlight the companys technical strengths and service quality
  • 3. Team Management :

  • Lead and develop the sales team (both internal and external)
  • Create a results-driven and accountable team culture
  • Provide regular training on products and sales techniques
  • 4. Market and Business Development :

  • Stay up to date with market trends, competitors, and customer needs
  • Spot new product opportunities and growth areas
  • Work closely with procurement, operations, and technical teams
  • 5. Stock & Supplier Management :

  • Make sure stock levels meet sales demand
  • Improve pricing and reduce costs on orders
  • Maintain good relationships with key suppliers
  • REQUIREMENTS

    Education & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (Technical / Engineering background advantageous).
  • Minimum 10 years sales experience , with at least 3 years in a senior sales leadership role .
  • Proven track record in the industrial supplies sector (valves, fittings, piping, or related products preferred).
  • Experience managing and motivating a results-driven sales team.
