Job description

  • Assess whether changes need to be made or incentives structures should be put in place to ensure that company payments are relevant, drive growth, and are presented to management for approval, considering profitability effects.
  • Communicate, train, and explain any changes in commission structures and incentives to relevant staff members.
  • Ensure commission structures for the department (staff, agents, dealers) remain adequate and market-related.
  • Timely submit month-end commission reports to relevant staff, allowing opportunities for queries, and address them accordingly (MD to look into automating communication).
  • Maintain a team with defined responsibilities to handle all dealer administration promptly.
  • Prioritize dealer service quality, assessed quarterly through reviews from dealers and internal staff.
  • Maintain sales rep and promo team bases, including reallocating bases when staff leave.
  • Ensure the Sales Field Supervisor submits timely and effective feedback based on company requirements.
  • Manage the Sales Field Supervisor’s time effectively through a monthly schedule.
  • Implement a structured onboarding process, including detailed training and interviews during the trial period.
  • Oversee the Promotions team to ensure its viability.
  • Raise concerns, issues, or suggestions regarding the overall structure.
  • Reassess the Sales Field Supervisor position bi-annually to confirm its necessity.
  • Conduct annual visits by the Sales Manager or management representatives to all field staff (excluding Gauteng & Promo team).

Reporting and Business Development

  • Develop reporting packs as per management requirements and schedule.
  • Continuously improve reporting systems.
  • Maintain accurate weekly/monthly reports as required.
  • Present feedback professionally to external stakeholders and internal management.
  • Ensure expenses align with approved budgets.
  • Report on sales performance, retention ratios, and new business metrics.
  • Sales Managers to delegate and report on issues, concerns, or suggestions raised in meetings (e.g., sales budget meetings).

Vehicles and Equipment

  • Conduct due diligence when authorizing repairs and services.
  • Ensure proper processes and controls around company resources usage.

Resource Management

  • Monitor fleet bi-weekly, investigate issues, and take corrective actions.

Region Representation & Recruitment

  • Ensure regional representation and identify areas for growth.
  • Recruit new and replacement staff as needed.

Network & Client Relations

  • Provide accurate, timely reports to networks and clients.
  • Manage network and client relationships through scheduled meetings and ongoing engagement.

Management Support

  • Take on responsibilities and reporting for subordinates in their absence.
  • Onboard new staff with training on systems and processes.
  • Support management across the business as needed.

Staff Supervision

  • Identify operational efficiencies and automation opportunities.
  • Review operational needs regularly and adjust accordingly.
  • Create and maintain training materials, policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and workload distribution.
  • Evaluate sales and promo team performance monthly and address issues.
  • Manage subordinate performance through targets, appraisals, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Handle grievances and disputes with HR support.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate development.
  • Manage time-keeping and leave processes.

Systems

  • Stay informed on industry trends and new products for potential system improvements.
  • Regularly reassess and suggest system enhancements.

Self-Management & Teamwork

  • Build professional relationships, stay informed via Slack, uphold company values, and handle stress positively.
  • Proactively communicate potential issues and participate in employee recognition.
  • Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Report SHE incidents/accidents immediately.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately to prevent harm.
